Traction Bows

Treatment of acute fractures and/or fracture dislocations of the thoracic or region requires bed rest or the use of traction devices with external hanging weights, until surgical correction can be done. A tubular traction bow with continuous adjustable elastic tension is used for skeletal traction. The traction bows are now made of fiber glass but they may be of other materials as well.
