IV Cannulae is a kind of catheter that can be used to insert in a patient's vein in order to give anesthesia, medicine or other solutions for intermittent drug therapy/infusion or multiple fluid infusion. It prevents the needle from being accidentally dislodged and minimizes its exposure to patient tampering.
The catheter is made of Virgin P.T.F.E. (Ply Tetra Fluro Ethylene), one of the most biocompatible materials known to man or else Teflon or polyurethane. The Japanese steel is often preferred for the cannulas. It is a triple point needle for painless insertion.
Other parts of the IV cannulas are
Siliconised needle point - for smoother penetration and rapid closure after needle withdrawal.
Needle Cover - protects the needle point during handling. The extra thin walled needle has a needle hub with a large and clear flash back chamber.
Injection Port With a Snap Fit Protection Cap - allows injection of medicine during infusion.
Flexible Grooved Wings - provide an angle between the plane of the wings and catheter.
Threaded Stopper With Lock- is used to stop the blood spillage after infusion is stopped.
