pH Meter

A pH meter is a type of voltmeter with high impedance of the input channels. The high impedance is pH-meternecessary because of high resistance of the pH glass electrode used with pH meters.

pH is a measure of acidity or alkalinity. The amount of hydrogen ions cause a liquid to either be acidic (high concentration of hydrogen ions) or alkaline (low concentration of hydrogen ions). With the advancement in technology conventional glass Ph testing equipment has been replaced with non glass silicon chip sensor PH equipment in various industries. These equipments are used for continuous monitoring or analyzing of the pH balance.

Types of pH Meter
Instant pH meters: These types of pH meters are not expensive and are most suitable for soil measurement. One can see the desired results instantly. The instrument does not require any calibration with buffer solutions.

Digital pH meters: These particular types of pH meter are handy and accurate for pH measuring of waste water, chemical, food and for some laboratory applications. They are also found in different pH combination electrodes.

Electronic Digital pH meters: They are best used in water treatment plants and mass production portable water plants. They also have the feature of Bright LED display which shows 0 to 14 pH value in water with 1% to 2% accuracy.

pH Indicators: These type of pH meter are widely used in various industrial applications and also they are technically designed to meet the industrial requirements. These are one of the most reliable pH meters in acquiring accurate results and are also appreciated for there easy operation and longer functional life.

Use of pH Meter in Pharma

A pH meter is a small device that is used to tests water for its level of acidity versus base or alkalinity. In pharmaceutical industry, the pH meters are designed to cater the requirements of analytical labs. The instrument is used to test the level of concentration of acids, alkalines and other unwanted particcles in medicinal fluids and liquids.

Application of pH Meter

  • Pharmaceutical
  • Agriculture
  • Wine
  • Soil testing
  • Food products such as butter and yogurt
