Filter press is used for solid-liquid separation of pharmaceutical solutions. The solution to be filtered is made 
to pass through a thin membrane till the solid material is split from the liquid.
Contaminated particles are removed by the mesh screen and the clear particles are allowed to pass through onto the next stage of production. These specialised equipments are also used to remove suspended particles from a solution and process water and waste water treatment. The output depends on the viscosity of the solution, quality of filter membrane and nature of sediments in the solution.
