Medical Council of India

Founded in 1934 under the Indian Medical Council Act, 1933. This association was formed to maintain uniform and consistent standards of medical education, both at undergraduate and postgraduate level. It grants permission for starting new medical colleges, introducing new courses, increasing number of admissions etc. The council also undertakes the permanent registration and provisional registration of doctors having recognized and authorized medical qualifications.
