Capsule Inspection Machine Described In Brief

It is easy to inspect different capsules fast and accurately with the help of a capsule inspection machine. Capsule inspection is important because it ensures that the size, shape, coating, printing, embossing etc. of a capsule is perfect. This article will describe about the capsule inspection machine which has a horizontal ring with vertical openings. The diameter of the vertical openings is equal to the diameter of the cap of the capsule, so that individual capsules can pass through it. There is also a motor attached to rotate the ring.

 

A device feeds capsules to a wheel, which has plates perpendicular to the pivot of the wheel. The space between them is greater than the capsules diameter and less than the capsule cap diameter. This is to facilitate the capsule cap to pass through the uncapped bodies and travel with the capped bodies along with caps having the minimum diameter. The wheel is rotated by the second motor on a horizontal axis, to move capped bodies and push them onto the ring and into the openings of the ring. A plate is fixed below the ring to provide a support to the capsules received in the openings of the ring.

In the next step, the capsules with caps will be separated from the capsules without caps, and will be deposited in the plate. Vacuum system present in the machine, removes all separate caps. The finished capsules having a diameter equal to the predetermined capsule diameter or less than it, are discharged by gravity from the ring openings when they are carried beyond the plate. Caps which have exceeded maximum diameter are removed from the system and the rest are left in the ring openings or on top of the ring.
