Various types of marble simply change the look where ever these are used. From pure white to black all marble colors are available that is also the one parameter in defining the types of marble stone. Pure white is the most expensive of all marble types. Listed here are the popular marble types.
 
Carrara Marble – Carrara marble is white or blue in color. It is obtained from Carrara, Italy. Popularly this type of marble was used by Romans and Greeks for making marble fountains and statues.
 
White Marble – White marble as the name suggests is white in color and located in Island of Brac, Croatia. It used to make marble flooring, marble crafts, marble table base, furniture and many more. White marble is extensively used in almost every sphere.
 

Black Marble
Pennsylvania, USA is the place of origin of black marble that is dominantly used to make kitchen countertops, as in lay in flooring and in making black marble sculptures.
 
Faux Marbling Faux marble is actually not a marble but a painting that gives the appearance of marble. Faux marble is used wherever there is a limitation of budget.
 
Paper Marbling – Paper marbling is done on the aqueous surface and a technique of producing the marble like pattern on the surface. So it is also not the actual marble but the but totally gives the feel of marble.
 
Breccias – Breccias has the broken look. This type of marble is formed by broken fragments and fine-grained matrix. This type of marble is also called Breccia Oniciata or Breche Nouvelle and is caused by landslides or cave-ins. It is famous for its broken look.
 
Cultured Marble – Cultured marble is made by combining cement with dust. The cultured marble is less expensive as compare to actual marble but 4 times stronger than the real marble.
 
Bianco - Classic Italian white marble.
Bardiglio - Gray marble from Carrara.
Statuario – It is a slight translucent marble is a warmer and slightly translucent that is used for fine statuary.
Arabescato and Calacatta – These marble types has very heavy veining patterns and resemble white marble.
