Sword can be defined as a long, edged piece of metal that is used in several civilizations of the world, basically for the purpose of cutting, thrusting, or as a weapon. In fact, the most prominent use of sword in history was as a deadly weapon of war. It is basically an ancient weapon or a medieval weapon, which was widely used in ancient battles and wars among various states and countries. According to a very surface, but fundamental definition, sword is an ancient weapon having a long blade with typically one or two edges for striking, and a hilt.

German Swords: German swords emerged as a popular combat weapon during the World War II. During the war, these swords constituted a significant part of the pattern dress sword of the Nazi Naval Officers.
