PSA Oxygen Generators

As the name suggests, the Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) oxygen gas generators are meant for oxygen gas generation in the industries. They are being widely used these days in many industries. In order to generate the oxygen in these generators, air is sucked from an air compressor; this air is later on parted through molecular sieve. In this process, the molecules of nitrogen, moisture & other unwanted gases are adsorbed on surface of molecular sieve, the only gas which is not adsorbed in the process i.e., oxygen, comes out of the adsorption tower and get collected in a surge vessel. In certain gas generation systems, additional adsorption towers are provided for the constant generation of oxygen gas.

These plants have the capacity of generating around 85 to 94% pure oxygen gas. The gas so produced is used in various industries. Twin adsorption towers ensure uninterrupted generation of oxygen, hence they are employed sometimes. This is a very economical way to produce pure oxygen in comparison to the cylinder/liquid plants.
