The hot gas soldering machine is used for carrying out hot gas soldering process. The hot gas soldering process utilizes a fine jet of very hot gas for heating the work point. Hot gas soldering serves as an ideal heating technique and is widely used in small scale production.
Soldering Process
The process involves relatively low heat transfer between gas and the material to be heated. In this process, the temperature of gas is set to about 4000oC. To achieve a good heating rate the temperature of the gas must to be set to higher degrees. There is a need to allow a regulated flow of gas to the heater of the soldering instrument. This can be accomplished by passing some air along the leads carrying the electric power to the heating element. The air supply can also be used to cool the handle of the soldering machine.
