The machine is used for rotary friction welding process. This type of welding process is also known as driven friction welding and is widely used for assembling carbon steel vehicle axles and sub axles.

Welding Process
In this process, one component is rotated against the other. The machine consists of a cylindrical shaped column that is rotated against a similar stationary component under pressure. The material at the interacting surface becomes plasticized, and the metal parts are subsequently joined together.
