Carbon Arc Welding Machine

The machine is used for carbon arc welding process, which is the oldest of all arc welding processes. It marks the beginning of arc welding process. But this process of welding has limited application today.

Welding Process
The carbon welding process produces fusion of metals by heating them with the help of an arc placed between a non consumable carbon electrode, which is usually graphite; and the workpiece. There is no shielding involved in the process. The process may or may not use pressure and filler metal.

Variety of Carbon Arc Welding Machines
There is a variation of carbon welding known as twin carbon arc welding machine, which is in use till date for several purposes. The process involves establishing arc between two carbon electrodes.

There is another variety of carbon arc welding machine, which uses compressed air for cutting.
