Mainly used in soil analysis and agriculture, the device is widely used for determining dry density and compaction of fine and medium grained soil.

The Sand pouring cylinder is mainly used to determine the dry density of fine and medium grained soil; and for layers not more than 50 cm thickness. It can also be used to determine compaction of soil. The instrument consists of three parts :

Pouring cylinder
Calibration container
Metal tray

Specification

The sand pouring cylinder of 115 mm dia is fitted with a conical funnel and shutter of 3 liter capacity, a cylinder calibrating container 100mm dia x 150 mm height, metal tray 300 mm x 300 mm x 40 mm with 100 mm central hole.
