Single-Entry Drum Screens
Share |

Single entry cup screens are designed to fulfill the continuously rising requirements of fine screening. They are also known as cup screens. They are similar to the double entry drum screens. The difference is in their orientation to the flow and the fact that the downstream end of the drum is covered by a full diameter backplate. The open end of the cup screen faces the flow and the central shaft is located parallel to the flow.
Single entry cup screens are perfect for the protection of debris-sensitive membranes. They are essential for today's advanced treatment processes of domestic sewage and waste water. The flow enters the drum through its open end and leaves through the wire mesh placed on the screen's periphery. The debris is collected on the inside surface of the wire mesh panel and as the drum rotates it is exited. To remove the debris, a high pressure spray wash system is used. They utilize the in-to-out central flow pattern, which entirely eliminates the chances of material larger than the media aperture from bypassing the screen.
