Reactor Clarifier
Share |

Reactor clarifier units provide the most economical solution to clarification and precipitation requirements of wastewater treatment. The basic machine design provides for flash mix, coagulation, flocculation, solids recirculation, clarification, and positive sludge removal in a single basin - eliminating the need for multiple tanks and associated piping and pumping. These units are mainly used for softening, turbidity removal, and taste and odor removal applications.
In reactor clarifier, the settled sludge is mixed and recirculated with the influent stream. It is done in such a way that the particles, which are already settled, form a nuclei for particle growth through flocculation. It is created by a controlled hydraulic movement of the chemically conditioned inflow stream entering the clarifier unit.
This machine combines the processes of mixing, coagulation, flocculation and sedimentation into a single unit. It provides an effective mean for the removal of suspended solids and other related impurities. One of the main benefits of reactor clarifier units is its smaller footprint. The desired overflow clarity can be achieved at high up flow rate that is attained by optimum placement of the overflow launders either radially or circumferentially. The water up flow remains as vertical as possible with least disturbance to the solids. They can be operated with or without the need of sludge blanket.
