Band screens are used for fine screening of waste water at the inlet to treatment works. Here a continuous means of removing floating and suspended solids is required to improve the works efficiency and to protect heat exchangers, pumps, and other important equipment. They are very common and proven source of screening but they are relatively complex and expensive.

Type of Band Screens

Through-Flow Band Screen: They are designed for water flow through the screens and discharging retained solids into a refuse trench 50% effective submerged mesh area.
Dual-Flow Band Screen: They are designed for water flow from outside to inside of the screens and discharging retained solids into a refuse trench 100% effective submerged mesh area.Centre-Flow Band Screen: They are designed for water flow from inside to outside of the screens. They discharge retained solids into an internal collecting trough 150% effective submerged mesh area due to basket configuration.
