Wrapping machines are a kind of packaging machine used to wrap flexible materials like plastic sheet or film, foil, paper or other substances around the article. Wrapping can be done either vertically or horizontally.
Horizontal Wrapping Machines encompass a continuous film of wrapping materials supplied to the machine from a roll and drawn through the forming box and past a cutting and sealing station.
Vertical Wrapping Machines where items fall vertically in the tube of wrapping materials and in vertical order of the separate holding and cutting bars that pave the way for the process of cutting the edge of wrapping materials in order to create trailing and leading edge for the next wrapping cycle. Vertical position actually is an excellent helps in creating optimal cutting for severing the wrapping material.
Wrapping machines are of two types
- Semi Automatic Machines : Acts as a bridge between manual and fully automatic wrapping machines. These machines are cost effective as one operator is sufficient to run it, it also requires low maintenance.
- Fully Automatic Machines : A completely automatic wrapping machine is designed for wrapping items in heat sealable thermoplastic film at fast speed, packages continuously travel in a straight line through the machine, are delivered at the input end of the machine by infeed conveyor, and it ensures higher speed, efficiency, higher number of products packed in a minute.
