Moldings

Moulding or molding is a process of manufacturing pliable raw materials using a rigid frame or model, known as pattern. Mould is a hollow cavity in the desired shape that is filled with liquid such as  plastic, glass, metal, orceramic raw materials. The liquid solidifies and finally takes the shape of the mold in which it has been poured. The process of molding produces a solid / open-ended shape that conforms to the contour of the mold.

A mold is mostly counterpart of casting. It is used for mass production of various products. It can be used for manufacturing a wide range of products such as wire spools, bottle caps, automotive dashboards, pocket combs, one-piece chairs and small tables, storage containers, mechanical parts (eg. gears), and many other other plastic and rubber products.
