Track runner bearings are rolling bearings having a particularly thick-walled outer ring, can accommodate heavy as well as shock loads. They are used in all types of cam drives, tracks, conveyor systems etc.
Cam rollers are ball bearing with typically thick-walled outer ring. They are ready-to-mount units for all types of cam drives, conveyor systems etc. They can be narrow or wide with crowned runner surface. The wide rollers may also have a flat runner surface. Cam rollers with crowned runner surfaces where the misalignment and edge stress are minimum.
Narrow Cam Rollers or Single Row Cam Rollers are based on deep groove ball bearings in the 62 series. They have a crowned runner surface and contact seals on both sides. Wide cam rollers have been modified from double row angular contact ball bearings and have a 25° contact angle. They are fitted with pressed steel shields which. Wide cam rollers may have a crowned runner surface or a cylindrical (flat) runner.
Tolerance - Cam rollers have normal tolerances as standard, except for the tolerance of the crowned runner surface diameter which is twice the Normal tolerance.
Internal Clearance - The narrow cam rollers have C3 radial internal clearance as standard. The wide cam rollers are produced with the Normal axial internal clearance of double row angular contact ball bearings.
Cages -The narrow cam rollers have a pressed steel cage. The wide cam rollers have two snap-type cages of polyamide 6,6.
Load Carrying Ability - The outer ring of a cam roller has only a small contact area with the surface. The actual contact area depends on the load and the crowning. The deformation of the outer ring caused by this limited contact alters the force distribution in the bearing and thus has an influence on load carrying ability. Cam rollers are used for radial loads. If axial loads act on the outer ring they will produce tilting moments in the cam roller.
