SD Plummer Block Housings

They are used for spherical roller bearings with a tapered bore. This type of housing is horizontally split. It has dowel pins or straight pins that help avoid incorrect assembly. They have elongated holes for attachment bolts.

They have two eyebolts for easy handling. The housing allows some amount of axial displacement. Changes in shaft length due to thermal expansion can be accommodated inside the housing. Locating bearing arrangement can be obtained by inserting locating rings on each side of the bearing.

SD plummer block housings use labyrinth seals. End covers are used to close the housings at the shaft ends. It is inserted in the seal groove. Grease lubrication is preferred for SN plummer block housings. They are made of gray cast Iron. Plummer block bearing is designed to carry loads that act at right angle to the surface.
