Flow Control Regulators

Pneumatic Flow Control Regulators are used to control the speed of a pneumatic cylinder. Some of the important factors that must be taken care of to ensure a reliable performance are: the tube that is being used, ambient temperature and fluid conveyed together with the component materials of the fittings.

 

The exhaust air flow is controlled by an adjustable restrictor and the inlet flow is unrestricted full bore. These flow control regulators may be fitted to the cylinder or in the compressed air line.

 

However, flow regulation (and therefore a cylinder displacement speed) is more precise and constant when positioned near to the cylinder. Direct mounting of the 90 degree flow regulator fittings onto the cylinder is therefore the optimum solution.
