Tee - Reducing

Reducing tee, a T shaped fitting, has two ends of equal size and one end smaller. Typically, this describes a tee fitting in which the branch port is smaller than the ports of the run; it may also include size reduction from one of the run ports to the other.

 

A standard mini buttweld reducing tee fitting offers high integrity mechanical connections for positive pressure and vacuum applications in ultra high purity systems. It is designed for use with orbital weld equipment and feature unique machining and surface enhancement to prevent outgassing and inhibit corrosion.

 

These fittings are also used to reduce delivery lines to feed icemakers and other applications requiring a reducing tee fitting. For a good reducing tee in a hose fitting, it must be ensured that there are smooth flow paths and there is no turbulence or entrapments.
