Petrol Cooler

Information

Product Showcase

Petrol cooler is one of the important components of the fuel injecting section of all the automobiles, vehicles, and even jet planes and airplanes. Fuel is injected into the combustion section in small and periodic time periods. Each time equal amount of fuel is injected, but the entire amount isn't burned and some parts remain outside. To check the wastage of this much amount of fuel residue petrol cooler is used. Its main function is to cool the residual vapors of petrol and change back it into liquid state. Then it is again fed into the injected cycle.

Brazing Alloys
The petrol cooler is usually made of aluminum or aluminum alloys. Brazing plays an important role in the joining of different sections of petrol cooler. The full-surface heating of the aluminium is done by flame brazing technique. For this purpose, the brazing alloys used is usually aluminum based.

Composition: General Composition of Brazing Alloy used for this purpose includes

Aluminum: It is the major constituent.

Silicon: It is the second most major constituent.

Other Constituents: Iron, Copper, Manganese, Magnesium, Zinc, Titanium are another constituents present in smaller amounts.

Forms: The alloys used for brazing is found in different forms. Each one of them is good and can be used according to the requirement of the assembly. The different forms are:

Wire: The diameter of the wire varies from 1.6 mm to 3.0 mm.

Rods: The diameter of the rods range from 1.0 mm to 500 mm.

Grain: The alloys can also be used in the granular forms.

Preforms: They can also be found in other shapes, such as rings.

Brazing Flux
The flux used for facilitating the brazing of petrol cooler is usually based on chlorides and fluorides. Their working range may vary from 520°C to 660°C. The residues of flux are corrosive and is water soluble so after the brazing it can be simply washed off. Before using the flux powder has to be mixed with water to form a brushable paste.
