Cartridge oil filters are those filters which comprise of one or more cartridges having tightly folded, pleated and finely meshed material. The material traps the dirt particles while water moves through the filter chamber. All cartridge oil filters consist two core components, cartridge housing and filter cartridge. Cartridge filter is disposable kind of filter in which filter media can be replaced with new one if required. The filters are used to remove contaminants from a variety of fluids that include water, oil and air.

Virtually, all kind of materials are used to manufacture cartridge oil filters like cotton, polypropylene, metal wire etc. More complex filter media's are also used to manufacture these filters like activated carbon, semi conductor grade resin cartridges and reverse osmosis membrane for ion removal.

Cartridge Oil Filter Types:

Cartridge oil filter can be of two types -

Surface filter: Perfect for filtering sediment of standard size particles. Comprises large surface area as compared to depth type filters. Made up of thin materials like woven wire, paper and cloths.
Depth-type filter: This can capture contaminants and particles through the entire thickness of medium whereas sometimes surface filers block particles on the surface of filter.

Cartridge oil filters are widely applicable in vast number of industrial and other commercial applications like :

Performs clean room operation, water purification and remove variety of contaminants.
For purification of chemicals, compressed air, beverages, solvents, pre RO water, cosmetics and alcohol.
Functions effectively and economically in applications that have contamination level of less than 100 ppm.
For heavier contamination applications, cartridge oil filters are used as final polishing filters.
