Other Testing Equipment

A variety of miscellaneous filter test equipment are also available, which are used for various purposes, such as consistency determination, pH, drainage of pulp suspension, leakage test, stiffness test, fluff test, and more. A brief description of the different type of miscellaneous test equipment is given below.
 

Digital pH Meter
Digital pH meters are microprocessor controller technology based pH testing equipment. Simple and easy to operate, these pH meters are more sophisticated than ordinary pH meters are specially designed for taking accurate pH measurements of filter element, chemicals, medical research laboratories, and more.

 

In some types of pH testers, the electrode can be changed and any pH electrode of different size or shape can be used. These equipment can also be used to check electrodes in tanks and pipes and many other industrial applications.
 

Fluff Tester
Fluff tester is equipment designed to check the fluff level in the paper. Fluff tests have proved to be highly useful as the fluff may cause problems during impregnation or printing. The equipment enables fluff to be measured easily after imitating the action of printing press using a dry blanket. Based on latest technology, the fluff testers of now a days are capable of giving reproducible results and the fluff buildup in these testers proceeds at a steady rate with the number of sheets.
 

Laboratory Oven
Laboratory ovens are a type of filter testing equipment that are used for the curing of test samples of filter paper, pleated filter paper, adhesive bonding of end caps and for the curing of plastisol samples. The laboratory ovens are provided with forced air circulation that is suitably positioned in order to attain uniform temperature within the different sections of the Chamber.

 

Liquid Flow Filter Leak Test Bench
Liquid flow filter leak test bench is a filter testing equipment that are designed for the leak testing of liquid flow filter cartridges. The test bench, a pneumatic equipment, comprises of a series of manifold pipes that are used to fit the filter cartridges. The inlet air supply is checked at desired present pressure through regulators. Leak points (if any) are found in the liquid flow filter cartridges, can be spotted instantly.

 

Stiffness Tester
Stiffness Testers are equipment that are designed to evaluate the stiffness and resilient properties of various materials, such as filter paper, laminated plastic, cardboard paper, light metallic sheets, foil, wire or other flexible materials. The equipment can be used to test the materials of up to 3-mm thickness and with rigidity not exceeding 10,000 stiffness units.
 

Stiffness testers of now days have brought new standards of precision measurement to the specialized phases of research and production testing. With the standardization of the length of material being subjected to test, its angle of deflection and rate of loading, accurate and reproducible tests can be obtained.

 

Sheet Drying Cylinder
Sheet drying cylinders are used for drying the pulp hand sheets or paper samples (upto 56 sheets) in a laboratory. The method helps in preventing the wrinkling and shrinkage in dried test samples. Based on latest technology, the sheet drying cylinders also provide for convenient and rapid insertion of the sheets.
 

The equipment constitutes a frame-mounted cylinder, one guide roll and a break roll. The cylinder is electrically heated and the fan, mounted on the cylinder circulates the heated air within the cylinder. The necessary drying temperature can be achieved by adjusting the thermostat.

 

The sheet drying cylinders can be manually operated as well as motorized operated and come in a variety of specifications to suffice a particular application need.
