Shafts
Share |

Shaft usually refers to a metal bar or rod that joins the parts of a machine or an engine together. However shafts are of many different types, but the primary type of shaft that is used with gears and gearing equipment is called the drive shaft, driving shaft, or propeller shaft. This particular shaft is basically a mechanical component for transmitting the torque and rotational movement. These shafts are subject to torsion and shear stress. They are very durable and heavy-duty so that they can easily bear the pressure of such heavy applications. The modern and advanced shafts can easily transform rotational motion into linear motion and are often used in a multitude of industrial applications.
