Brass Miter Gears
Brass Racks and Pinions
Brass Racks and Pinions are quite useful in various types of shop and lab applications where it is intended to alter the rotary motion into a controlled uniform linear movement. These Brass Racks and pinions are easy to drill, tap or solder. 48 and 32 pitch racks are very common.
Brass Spur Gears
Brass Spur are very popular. These gears are used for transmission of motion and power between the two parallel shafts. The 20° pressure angle gears typically display a higher load carrying capacity than the ones with 14-½° pressure angle gears.
Brass Bevel Gears
Brass Bevel Gears are cut with typically a generated tooth form. These tooth form has a tooth bearing that is lengthwise localized. For a good performance, it is important that the Gears are pinned to a shaft by using a dowel or a taper pin.
Application of Brass Gears
Brass gears are often applied in clocks as they work soundly without any lubricant. An advantage of using brass gears is that due to constant meshing there is work hardening of their teeth. As a result of this there is little sign of wear.
