Spur Gear Drives, there is a small pinion gear that drives a large gear. The common gear ratio of this gear drive lies in between of 6:1 to 10:1 range. It requires low cost to manufacture the Spur Gears Drives. Therefore, these Spur Gear Drives are mostly used in those applications, where cost is given more importance rather than the noisiness. These drives are also known to be used in low power applications. The drawback of these gear drives is that these become useless for those photographs, which have been kept openly and get exposed.
