Today gears have become an integral feature of any industrialised products. Most of the industries ranging from food processing industries to highly advanced robotics the gears are employed everywhere. To keep pace with the developments there has been phenomenal improvement in the type of gears. From the traditional gears made by conventional methods of casting and forging to plastic gears that are made with light but durable materials the gears have traversed quite a long road for itself. After considerable research the gearing industry has now come with gears that whose diameters range from a few millimeters to gears, say for example the girth gears that comes with large diameter. Miniature gears are very small gears used in small and tiny components. The main task of minature gears is to transfer movements from one component to other and in some cases power too.

Medical Devices: Miniature gears are used in endoscopes, which are used for surgical operations. They are also used in sphygmomanometers, a pressure gauge for measuring blood pressure. Its another use is in dialyzer machines.
Electronic Devices: Minature gears have found a lot of applications in the electronic devices, such as Gages, Cameras, Printers, etc.
Automotive Industry: They are used for adjusting and control drives in the automotive industry.
Other Applications: They are used in various other applications and in different devices, such as office machines, household appliances, hydraulic robot mechanisms, etc.
