Hazards Identification
  • Compressed gas
  • May cause asphyxiation in high concentrations
  • Vapor cause a stinging sensation
  • May cause dizziness when inhaled
  • Can cause vomiting
  • Unconsciousness
  • Cause headaches and drowsiness
  • Cause excitation and rapid breathing
  • Cause stinging of the nose and throat
 
First Aid Measures
  • In situations of high concentrations, asphyxiation may be caused which the victim may not be aware of.
  • In such cases, remove the victim to uncontaminated area.
  • Wearing protective clothing and self contained breathing equipment when helping the victim.
  • Keep victim warm and rested.
  • Apply artificial respiration if needed.
  • Take medical help
 
Fire Fighting Measures
  • Suitable extinguishing media should be used.
  • If possible, stop flow of product.
  • Stay away from the container.
  • Cool the container and the enclosed area with water from a protected position.
  • In closed space use self-contained breathing apparatus.
  • The usual protective gear should be worn by fire fighters.
  • Personnel should be evacuated to upwind area.
  • Remove containers from fire.
 
Accidental Release Measures
  • Evacuate the affected area.
  • Wear self-contained breathing apparatus.
  • Adequate air ventilation should be provided.
  • Try to stop the flow.
  • Avoid entering sewers, basements and any place where the product release is dangerous.
 
Handling & Storage Handling
  • Keep storage container below 50°C in a well ventilated place.
  • Suck back of water into the container must be avoided.
  • Do not allow back feed into the container.
  • Make use of specified equipment which is suitable for the gas.
  • Know the product's supply pressure and temperature while storing.
  • Follow supplier's container handling instructions.
  • Do not heat cylinder by any means.
  • Use check valve in discharge line to stop hazardous backflow into the cylinder.
  • Do not use oils or grease on gas-handling equipment.
  • After use, close main cylinder valve.
