Eco-Cell: New Solutions for Wastewater Treatment

Treatment of sewages of hospitals, hotels, resorts, IT parks and commercial segments have become even more easier with the use of newly entrant water treatment system.

 

Eco Cell. Eco cell is operated in five steps which are as follows:

 

Electro-Coagulation
In this process, electric current is applied to release the anodic plate material to combine with the contaminants. Stable sludge of hydroxide species is produced in this step which neutralizes the electrostatic charges on suspended solids and other contaminants to facilitate coagulation and separation from the aqueous phase.

 

Electro-Destruction
In this phase due to the application of electric current, the generated hydroxyl reacts with the contaminating organics of the wastewater and oxidize the same. Addition of salts helps in the generation of nascent chlorine due to electrolysis thereby further removing organics and pathogens.

 

Tube Settler
Tube settlers enhances the settling characteristics of the flocks. The solid so accumulated are flushed out periodically.

 

Dual Media Filtration
The smaller particles that cannot be removed by gravity separation techniques are removed by double media filtration. This method helps in achieving the recyclable water quality.

 

Activated Carbon Filtration
The remaining organic compounds and inorganic species are effectively removed by Activated carbon filtration process. This treatment is essential not only for final polishing but also for removing taste and odor compounds from wastewater.

 

Capabilities of the system
Eco-cell system are used for removing suspended and colloidal solids that makes it efficient during sewage and sludge treatment and removal of heavy metals. The system is also useful for breaking the oil emulsion in water thereby removing fats, oil and grease. It is capable of treating complex organics thereby making eco-cell system amenable for biological treatment. The systems successfully disinfect pathogens like bacteria and viruses and are used for spent coolant treatments, removing colors treating industrial wastewater. Due to these features eco-cell is used in industries like textiles, tanneries, electro plating, etc.
