AC Voltage Stabilizers

AC Voltage Stablizers are mainly used in household applications for maintaining a continuous AC output that is close to the normal mains voltage in cases of fluctuation. These stabilizers make use of a variable auto transformer to accomplish the process.

 

Working Principle
AC voltage stablizer employs a negative feedback or servomechanism to regulate the position of the wiper of the auto transformer. Whenever the mains voltage rises leading to the rise in output voltage, the wiper is moved in a way so as to minimize the output voltage to a normal range.
