National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA)

National Electrical Manufacturers Association was established in 1926 and its headquarter is in Washington, D.C. It is the trade association for the electrical manufacturing industry with over 450 companies as its members. Its member companies are involved in the manufacture of products that are used in the generation, transmission, distribution, control, and end-use of electricity. These products are utilized in medical imaging, industrial, commercial, institutional and residential applications.

 

A forum is provided by NEMA for the upliftment of technical standards that are in the best interest of the sector and users, suggesting industry policies on legislative and regulatory matters, and collection, analysis, and publicizing industry data. NEMA also has its headquarter in Rosslyn and Virginia and offices in Beijing & Mexico city.

This association has become the first choice of people involved in electrical industry because it aims at developing and promoting this industry and thereby help its members to acquire information on industry and market economics. The U.S electrical product industry is promoted by NEMA by developing standards, advocacy in federal and state legislatures and executive agencies and the collection & analysis of economic data.
