Continuous Hinges

Also known as Piano Hinges, Continuous Hinges are composed of two continuous leaves of material. These hinges are available in standard lengths of 1.8 meters and vary in width from 13 mm to 150mm. Continuous hinge is also sometimes referred as long narrow butt hinge. They have some advantages over using several shorter butt hinges. These hinges can be cut down in order to match the full length of the door or lid to be hinged. These hinges provide support along the entire length of the door thereby keeping the door and frame in perfect alignment. Another added advantage of continuous hinges is that they evenly distribute the load over the whole length of the door aperture.
