Cabinet Screws

Share  |

Cabinet screws are designed to be used in cabinet installation and construction. Cabinet screws are usually thin in diameter and sturdy in construction. The thin screws prevent splitting of the cabinet material. The washer head of the cabinet screw compresses the flush against the cabinet surface.

The length and the diameter of the screw head vary depending on the cabinet type they are used with.

Materials Used

Cabinet screws are generally made of metals like:

  • Steel
  • Brass
  • Iron

All metallic screws are given proper finishes or coating to protect them from corrosion. These screws are also given salt spray to resist corrosion.

Types

Cabinet screws are of the following types:

  • Trim Screws: These screws have smaller heads as compared to other cabinet screws. Trim screws usually come with a W-cut thread design. The exceptionally small head and the W-cut design of trim screws limits maximum material splitting. These screws are available in various sizes and their size ranges from 40 mm to 125 mm. These screws are easy to install and does not require major drilling etc. Trim screws are given salt spray coating to protect them from corrosion.
  • Rack Mount Screws: These screws are ideal for the installation of rack mount cabinets and usually come with necessary washers. Available in a wide variety of sizes, rack mount screws use a standard cross head driver. These cabinet screws are mostly made of metals and are black coated match most cabinet racking systems.
