Direct Vent Fireplaces

Direct vent fireplaces, as the name implies, are directly vented to outside through a hole in the exterior wall. They do not require a chimney above the roof line. These fireplaces can recreate the glow and shimmer of a real wood fire. This model of fireplace is so efficient that it can easily heat a major portion of any room with single fireplace.

 

Design Anatomy 
Direct vent fireplace does not have a chimney. It only requires a hole though the wall behind or right above the appliance. Almost all wall is suitable for the installation of direct vent fireplace. This model of fireplace applies a sealed combustion direct vent system to efficiently provide warmth to the room and maintain fresh air quality. It also comprises of a system to address the air pressure in a compactly sealed room. Air needed for combustion is acquired from outside through a double venting system, minimizing the heat loss associated with chimneys.
 

Function
A Direct Vent Fireplace uses a glass panel to seal off the burn area and pulls air from outside to feed the fire. It does not effect the indoor air quality and is considered as the most efficient fireplace. The sealed front and vent pipe provide the burnt gaseous an exit outside rather than in the home. In this manner, the air contaminated with burning of byproducts and unused fuel does not circulate in the home and keep the internal air pure and safe to inhale.

The direct vents are extremely safe and used to generate tremendous amount of heat. This model results in no heat loss and no drafts because its entire operation is independent of the in-house air. Fireplaces with direct vents can be installed easily both in indoor as well as outdoor places. These direct vent models are highly versatile and are available in many explicit designs and styles.
