Flushing Systems
After the gravity fed flush toilets, the next generation of toilet designs and flush systems, that are the most popular, are the pressure assist toilets. Pressure assist toilets use a different technology than the gravity fed flushing systems. They are considered to be better than the traditional flushing systems. Looks wise they appear just like gravity fed flush toilets. But they are a little different for sure. They have an inner tank that is completely sealed. This sealed tank is filled with water and the air inside the tank gets compressed. When the flush lever is pressed this water is flushed into the bowl using the twin force of water and the air pressure that is generated using the compressed air. Dual pressure system proves to be more effective in flushing the waste and cleaning the bowl. Let's understand the working of the pressure assisted flush toilets in detail.
How does a Pressure Assisted Toilet Work?
As mentioned above a pressure assist flush toilet works with the combined forces of high air pressure and water pressure. The air pressure is created in the compression tank as the sealed water tank gets filled up with water. After the flush lever is pressed, water is released with full force. Some advanced versions of the pressure assist flush toilets also use electric pumps for better performance.
