There are two types of marble bathtubs that are available and frequently used. These are

Cultured marble tubs
Natural marble tubs

Cultured marble tubs are expensive tubs that are manufactured artificially using crushed lime stone and polyester resin, with a gel coated finish. The gel which is coated helps in providing durability, toughness and also produce unique range of colors, patterns, and veining. As compared to natural marbles they are less brittle and can be repaired if chipped slightly.

Natural marble bathtub are porous and can be effected by the hot water and chemicals. They are hard to clean and maintain. However still if they are preferred that is because of their delicate beauty.

Maintenance

The beauty and durability of the marble tub depends lot on its maintenance.

Soft sponge should be used for routine cleaning
In some cases you can also use aerosol foam cleaner
Do not use harsh abrasive or cleaner
Paste Wax can be used quite often to maintain luster.

You can buy marble bathtub of various sizes and shapes like square, round, diamond etc. Make sure that your bath tub is not prone to staining. If you are ordering your bath tub from far areas or from oversea market you must emphasize on packaging aspect because any loose packing may result in the scratches. Also make it clear from the supplier that what type of accessories he can supply for the maintenance of the bathtub.
