Q.1. What is a rod pocket?
Ans. A rod pocket is an opening across the top of a curtain through which the curtain rod can be passed. They come in various sizes and the smaller pockets are designed for standard rods. The large sized rod pockets are designed for continental rods or decorative rods.
Q.2. How to use curtain tiebacks?
Ans. Tiebacks, also known as holdbacks usually mount on both sides of window casings. However, they can be installed on walls also. They should be installed at or just outside the curtains' edges.
Q.3. What is the right position for installing curtain rods?
Ans. Generally, curtain rods are installed just above the window frame in a vertical position so that curtain fall on the required place. But the rod can be adjusted little up and down for proper positioning of the curtain. For more a more elegant look, rods can be hanged closer to the ceiling. In case you are using tab curtain, the rod should be placed high enough so that the tabs are well above the window.
Q.4. What is a Cornice Pole?
Ans. It is a curtain pole with rings. They are mostly used for draping heavy curtains.
Q.5. What is a valance?
Ans. A valance is usually a top window treatment that can stand alone or can be positioned over curtains.
Q.6. Whether tab top drapery panels can be opened and closed?
Ans. Tab top panels are mostly used as a stationery treatment as compared to other light and privacy-controlling covering like shades or blinds. However, if the curtain rod is within reach, tab top curtain panels can be slightly moved to open and close the panels.
Q.7. What is a spring-tension rod?
Ans. It is an adjustable curtain rod that fits inside the window frame. It is provided with an internal spring that makes it possible to adjust the rod.
