Roadside emergency kits are very important accessory to carry with while traveling long distances. They are very helpful to get back on the road safely and quickly when a person gets stuck on the road for a long period of time. Emergency kit is one on the most essential things that every vehicle should have.

Basic items included in Emergency Kits
Some of the basic items included in the roadside kit are:

Battery powered radio and extra batteries
Flash light and extra batteries
Blanket
Booster cables
Fire extinguisher
Extra fuses
Pliers
First aid kits and manual
Bottled water and high energy non-perishable food
Maps
Shovel
Tire repairing kit and pump
Flares

Before keeping emergency kits in the vehicle, one should get familiar with all the items included in the kit and their usage. Emergency kits for car can also be prepared at home by assembling the necessary items.

Items to be included in emergency kit varies from season to season. It may be different in summers than in winters. In places, where winter is severe, an emergency kit should consist of the following additional items:
