Mohair rugs / Mohair carpets are woven out of the hair of the Angora goat. The word "mohair" is derived from the Arabic mukhayyar, a type of haircloth. Mohair is shorn out of the goat twice a year. The hair so removed is then processed to remove the dirts. Often the Mohair is dehaired to to separate the coarse hair from the down hair.
