Braided rugs or rag rugs are simple with a unique weaving texture. It appears as if the braids of yarn have been woven together. They are suitable for indoor accents or as outdoor mats. They may also be called hooked rugs.

Material
Braided rugs can be of any fiber or yarn. Color, design and utility are the key factors that decide the type of yarn to be used. Yarn may vary from jute, sisal and coir to wool, cotton or synthetic fibers. While selecting a fabric, its characteristics regarding moisture resistance, stains resistance, strength against abrasion, environmental concerns, and price must be considered.

Innumerable patterns can be created using the braided rugs. Color variations add to the beauty of the braids. a wide range of shapes and sizes can be created of the braided rugs. They are available in monotones or shades. A melange of colors may create a rainbow effect. Traditional patterns are quite likable and suitable even to the modern scenario, newer pattern are continually innovated and combined with the traditional forms to give a unique look.
