The natural materials used in the carpet also do not harm the carpet in anyway. They do not release harmful gases as synthetic fiber carpets do.
Persian carpets are constructed in different knot density. Knots per square inch indicate the quality and value of a fine carpet, the higher the number the better the carpet is. It takes experienced fingers to make that many very small knots.

If you are a lover of rustic art, ask for Persian tribal or village carpet. City carpets are more sophisticated and have better finish.
Color harmony, border design, border colors and central medallion design should be properly checked. The price should be reasonable and must corroborate the stuff you are purchasing. If you wish to buy antique Persian carpet make sure you are buying the original antique piece and not the replica of antique piece. Sometimes carpets are chemically bleached to look like antique carpet. Be aware ! Always purchase the carpet from the trusted source.
