How to Make Butcher Style Apron Pattern?
Butcher kitchen apron is perhaps the most popular and workable kitchen apron pattern. It saves you efficiently from all the stains and and also provide comfort while cooking. You will require the following material for making this apron:
  • One yard of fabric- its better if it is medium weight cotton.
  • Thread

These are the step by step instructions for making butcher kitchen apron:
  • Trace the following kitchen apron pattern on your fabric. The dark lines are the marks where you have to cut the fabric. The dotted lines are the marks where you have to fold lines. The violet dotted lines mark is for stitching.
  • Cut out the fabric pieces. Your strap pieces must be 12inches (30cm) by 2 inches (5 cm). The top portion of this apron must be 9inches (22cm) and the straight part of the sides must start about 10inches (25cm) from the top.
  • Sew the center seam of the top strap with right sides together which will give you a single long piece of fabric.
  • Now fold the strap lengthwise with the wrong sides together. This will give you a narrow double sided piece with the right sides of the fabric facing outward. One edge will be a fold while the other edge will be two raw edges. Top stitch along the fold line. Leave the raw edges as they are for now.
  • Sew the ends of the fabric strap to the top edge of the apron. Take care to keep the right sides together and the raw edges of the strap lining up with the raw edges of the sides of the apron while sewing. Also ensure that the unfinished edges are on the outside.
  • Hem the top of your apron by folding over one-fourth inch and another one-fourth inch again. Make sure that the straps are pointing upwards away from the apron. Now stitch- topstitch along the upper edge.
  • Fold the ties in half lengthwise while keeping right sides together. Sew one side of each tie to finish but remember that the ties will hang down when the apron is tied. Thus, you should keep the finished edge at the bottom.
  • Turn the ties right side out and topstitch along the fold lines as well as the bottom of the ties. Sew the ties to the sides of your apron in the similar manner as was done with the strap. Ensure that the unfinished edges are on the top of your apron.
  • Fold the raw edge of the apron one-fourth inch and another one-fourth inch again while keeping the wrong side facing you. Hem your apron all the way around the apron and stitch. All your raw edges now will get finished look.
