The main problem associated with the pet is hair shedding that can spoil your carpet. Hence you must apply commonsense in choosing the color. If the hair color of your pet is dark, then select a medium to dark carpet to help camouflage shedding. However dark carpet may not be the best option for your white-haired, four-legged friend. This tip is however meant for those who doesn't want to vacuum their carpet quite often.

Pets have their own mood judging which is a damn difficult. At times they can act as a proficient miners and try to dig your carpet with their claws. Cats for example have the habit of kneading. Is your pet a digger or kneader? If yes then avoid buying carpets with large loops as claws can become caught in the pile more easily.

You will always like to prefer carpet that gives soft experience underfoot. Pets too enjoy the same experience. So if you are going for soft textured carpet go ahead.
