• Wash or dry-clean your linens thoroughly before storing them to prevent mold growth. Stains will easily mold if they go unchecked.
• Soak them in warm water for better cleaning.
• Brush off any mold you find on your linens outside so the spores do not land on fresh linen. Soak linens in bleach and water before washing to remove any excess mold.
• Rinse linens thoroughly of all soap to prevent spotting.
• The detergents that contain bleaching agents are perfect for white linen but should not be used for washing colored linen or else your linen would get discolored or spotted.
• Never wash darker-colored pieces together with lighter-colored articles - if you do, you risk spoiling both.
• Do not wring out linen before drying.
• Always launder or dry-clean linen before storing to prevent mildew growth.
• If linen articles are stored for a long time, refold them from time to time.
• Place linens in a cool, dark, dry closet or other area in your house.
• Roll up linens as you store them so they keep their shape and color.
• Store linens in cotton, linen or muslin if using a garment bag. These natural fibers will breathe well and will not stain your linens.
• Never use chlorine bleach to remove stains - it can damage the fabric.
• Always launder items after treating to remove residues of the stain and the stain remover.
• When removing a stain, place the stained area face down on a clean paper towel or white cloth. Avoid applying the remover on the embroidery.
• After cleaning the linens store them nicely in your cupboards or shelves.
