Pepper Oil is a spice derivative and is obtained by steam distillation of black pepper. It is volatile in nature and has an aromatic smell. It is extracted from dried unripe berries of pepper. Black pepper oil contains Terpenes, Sesquitenpenes and Oxygenated compounds, and is used for flavoring and perfumery. Pepper oil is pale yellow in color and is of thick consistency.

The essential oil is consists of various natural chemical constituents and includes the following; a-thujone, a-pinene, camphene, sabinene, b-pinene, a-phellandrene, myrcene, limonene, caryophyllene, b-farnesene, b-bisabolene, linalool and terpinen-4-ol.

Pepper oil possesses the following therapeutic properties:
analgesic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, antitoxic, aphrodisiac, diaphoretic, digestive, diuretic.
