 Lavender is an annual plant belonging to the mint family and native to Mediterranean, Africa and India. The plants are cultivated in gardens worldwide. It is used for aesthetic and therapeutic purposes. The plant derivative such as lavender essential oil is being increasingly used for culinary purpose and aromatherapy.

2.Aromatherapy
Lavender essential oil is extensively used in aromatherapy for removing stress and relaxation. It also has antiseptic properties.
 
3.Herbal Medicines
Lavender is also used in as a herbal remedy for insect bites, soothing headaches, aiding sleep, prevent acne etc.
 
Lavender is used as a condiment in salads, soups etc. It provides an aromatic and strong flavor.
