Various features of this variety of rice are as follows :
- This variety of rice was notified in 1969-78.
- This paddy variety takes about 130-140 days to grow.
- It is best grown in irrigated/rainfed areas.
- The plant height is dwarf (80-85 cm).
- The grain is long bold and white.
- It is moderately resistant to blast, green leaf hopper, moderately susceptible to rice tungro virus and susceptible to gall midge.
- Its yield is 50-55 quintals/hectare.
- It is grown in Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Orissa, Maharashtra, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
