This variety of rice is best grown in Himachal Pradesh. It has two main types :
Himalaya-1

It is grown in low medium and higher hills.

The plant height is semi dwarf.

The grain is long slender, fine, resistant to blast, stem borer and rice hispa, moderately susceptible to glume blotch and brown spot.

Its yield is 38 quintals/hactare.
Himalaya-2

It is grown in low and mid hills.

The plant height is semi dwarf.

The grain is long bold, scented, resistant to blast, stem borer and rice hispa, susceptible to glume blotch and brown spot.

Its Yield is 35 quintals/hactare.
