Himalaya Rice

This variety of rice is best grown in Himachal Pradesh. It has two main types :

Himalaya-1
  • It is grown in low medium and higher hills.
  • The plant height is semi dwarf.
  • The grain is long slender, fine, resistant to blast, stem borer and rice hispa, moderately susceptible to glume blotch and brown spot.
  • Its yield is 38 quintals/hactare.

Himalaya-2
  • It is grown in low and mid hills.
  • The plant height is semi dwarf.
  • The grain is long bold, scented, resistant to blast, stem borer and rice hispa, susceptible to glume blotch and brown spot.
  • Its Yield is 35 quintals/hactare.
